In a Mumbai theater, a producer, his son, and two intruders clash during one night over hidden treasure. As they search for gold, deception grows, secrets emerge, and past. Parmeshwar Khanna (Jaaved Jaffrey) plays an eccentric filmmaker living with his only teen son (Mohmmed Samad) in derelict ramshackle theater where supposedly he has gold buried and his sons friends played by Veena Jamkar and Deepak Damle are after the gold conning Khanna in revealing his closest secrets . Will they find the gold? What happens to his son and his friends? Tumbaad fame director Rahi Anil BArve has made a superb thriller which will appeal to the massses and classes and the technical aspects are superb with mood lighting cinematography and the use of space and time with slick editing and superb sound design and background music, Jaaved Jaffrey literally lives his role wondering why we dont see much of him on the big screen. Veen Jamkar and Deepak Damle have done an impressive job. The debutant Mohmmad Samad is earnest. All in All a good thriller with a little bit of horror and reminscent of films like Cinema Paradiso, Gold Rush and Mckennas Gold , This one will be far better than Tumbbad.
